Our commitment to sustainability
"Cognita’s longstanding commitment to sustainability is rooted in our profound belief that learning is a force for development far beyond the classroom. This means our approach to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is deeply social – connecting everyone from students and their parents to teachers, suppliers, and the communities that schools rely on.
Our schools are passionate about making a positive difference in the world. Not only do they prioritise the environment through increasing use of clean energy and waste reduction: they also understand the importance of creating responsible learners and encouraging the sustainability leaders of tomorrow. At its core, sustainability is also about empowering our people, supporting their wellbeing, and enriching our communities – extending Cognita’s impact to a growing network of learners around the world.
2024 was a year of ESG milestones for Cognita – all part of our journey to becoming a more responsible and future-focused organisation. Read more about our sustainability strategy, ambitions and continuing progress in our Sustainability Report for 2024."

Sustainability Strategy
Our sustainability strategy covers four priority areas: environment, students, people, and communities. These priority areas are underpinned by our foundational principle, Leading Responsibly. This strategy is inspired by our global purpose - to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
Sustainable Learning Environments reflects our ambition to reduce our environmental impact in terms of our operations and infrastructure.
Nurturing Responsible Learners reflects our ambition to empower our students to thrive not only on their own, but in relation to others, with society, and on our planet.
Fair & Sustainable Workplaces reflects our ambition to provide fair work and create a workplace that focuses on culture, diversity, inclusion, wellbeing, and development.
Impacting Global Education reflects our ambition to benefit global education as a whole by using our unique set of skills to help communities all over the globe improve their quality of education.
Leading Responsibly is the foundational principle that underpins each of these priority areas. It reflects how as an organisation we are governed by the principle of leading and operating ethically and with integrity.
